Prism
A prism is an optical element made of transparent materials such as glass and crystal. It usually has multiple refracting surfaces and specific geometric shapes, such as triangular prisms and right-angle prisms. Its main functions are to make light undergo phenomena such as refraction, reflection and dispersion. Through refraction, the propagation direction of light can be changed. By using dispersion, polychromatic light can be decomposed into monochromatic lights of different colors. Prisms are widely used in optical instruments such as telescopes, microscopes and spectrometers, and play an important role in fields such as optical experiments, imaging systems and optical signal processing.
