  • Laser drilling is a key process in the manufacturing of printed circuit boards (PCBs). Driven by cutting-edge technologies, particularly emerging technologies such as 5G and AI, reducing the diameter of PCB holes contributes to higher wiring density and enhanced performance. Laser drilling with small apertures meets the demands of high-precision and high-density designs.

    The Acousto-Optic Deflector (AOD) technology has significantly enhanced the efficiency and precision of laser drilling processes. An AOD is a device that achieves beam deflection by adjusting ultrasonic frequencies, and features such advantages as mechanical inertia-free operation, high deflection accuracy, and laser power modulation. Laser drillers equipped with AODs can finish rapid scanning of laser beams. To draw an analogy, the beam projecting can be likened to a moving car maintaining its speed while navigating a curve. Similarly, such laser drillers ensure stable energy output when drilling small apertures, effectively avoiding common issues such as thermal effects and inconsistent hole diameters typically seen in traditional methods. These drillers not only improve the circularity of drilled holes but also significantly enhance overall drilling quality. Tailored for the PCB drilling industry, we have developed a series of laser components, including the 2DF2010 and 2025 series for 355 nm UV and ultrafast lasers, and the DF1010 series for 10.6 µm drilling applications.
